The Youth On the Land Opportunities (YOLO) Community Network exists because of the deep and enduring relationships that Indigenous Peoples have with the Land, Water, and all beings. We honour the many territories, Nations, and communities across Turtle Island where this work takes place, each with their own languages, laws, teachings, and protocols.

We recognize that this Network operates on the ancestral lands and waters of Indigenous Peoples who have stewarded and protected them since time immemorial. We acknowledge their ongoing presence, leadership, and resistance, and affirm that land-based learning is not new, it is a return to ways of knowing, doing, being and relating that have always been here.

As a community, we commit to walking in good relationship with the Land and each other. We hold ourselves accountable to the youth, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and communities who guide this work, and we move forward with gratitude, respect, and awareness of our shared responsibility
